Is the Snapper a backup for banknote and alike the boss eftpos?
A sneak peak at the Snapper's next upgrades in the pipeline, (like eftpos but contact-less ... swish the card in front of a reader, it deducts the amount). Here showing the next steps for the Snapper card. Snapper is developing into a very quick way to pay, and not just for buses, with more stores coming on-board. It's a step closer to a general payment option. The Snapper is also being "embedded" into other cards like school IDs...the Snapper readers (the terminals you swipe the card in front of) has GPS tracking - setting some alarm-bells off on privacy grounds.
